This sewing project in Munich helps women who are suffering from mental illnesses to rebuild their lives. Under care and supervision they are helped into working life by producing dresses which are fashionable and sell at a premium. This gives these women, who ordinarily face massive discrimination in the labour market, new self-confidence and marketable skills. Most importantly, it helps them realise that are respected for who they are and that contrary to many people's prejudices about the mentally ill, they can make a valuable contribution to their community.
