Some 10.000 homeless people live in Berlin. Caritas mobile doctors take care of their health. In summertime, Gabriela Allgeier and her colleagues get around on bikes. This way they reach people they could not help before – in parks, behind bushes or at the banks of the Spree. “We give primary care, bring sleeping bags, bandage wounds or hand out medication”, says the nurse on wheels. To her it is important that these people get the feeling that there is still someone who cares for them.
